New build Independent Living Building & Bungalows

A former school and ambulance site, adjacent to a protected woodland site and residential area.

The unusual footprint of the building is shaped by the TPO woodland and the 3 Roman Dykes which run diagonally across the site.

The 60 bed Independent living building is a flat roof design to reduce its visual impact and is articulated with various materials and building offsets, so that the scale is broken down into a series of small blocks.

The scheme is also supported by 6 supported living bungalows for complex needs, each with their own garden spaces. The design of these units uses a similar vocabulary as the Independent Living, but with pitched roofs.
